Pre-Algebra with Minecraft

*32 Weeks*

This course is NOT Common-Core aligned, although the required textbook is marked as such.

This course will give your students a strong foundation in algebra while also preparing them for future study of geometry, probability, and data analysis. The clearly written lessons make even difficult math concepts and methods understandable by providing numerous stepped-out examples. Lessons include a wide variety of exercises to develop and practice skills in logical reasoning and problem solving.

Algebra 1 with Minecraft

*32 Weeks*

This course is NOT Common-Core aligned, although the required textbook is marked as such.

This course covers the material in algebra 1 including expressions, equations, functions, exponents, graphing, and some probability and statistics. My goal as the teacher is to make the material covered in the textbook make sense and to ensure that no concept gets left behind. Future study will hinge on a student’s understanding of this foundational material.

Geometry with Minecraft

*32 Weeks*

This course is NOT Common-Core aligned, although the required textbook is marked as such.

In Geometry, students will develop reasoning and problem solving skills as they study topics such as congruence and similarity, and apply properties of lines, triangles, quadrilaterals, and circles. They will also develop problem solving skills by using length, perimeter, area, circumference, surface area, and volume to solve real world problems.

Algebra 2 with Minecraft

*32 Weeks*

This course is NOT Common-Core aligned, although the required textbook is marked as such.

The content of Algebra 2 is organized around families of functions, including linear, quadratic, exponential, logarithmic, radical, and rational functions. As students study each family of functions, they will learn to represent them in multiple ways – as verbal descriptions, equations, tables, and graphs. They will also learn to model real-world situations using functions in order to solve problems arising from those situations.
